Home Based ECD Program

PCCR is dedicated to enabling parents to fulfill their responsibilities by ensuring their children receive adequate education. PCCR has developed a home-based manual to guide parents in supporting their children's educational journey at home.

This module is designed to enhance parents' understanding of child development and equip them with effective strategies for nurturing the abilities of children not yet enrolled in nursery programs. Through training in home-based Early Childhood Development (ECD), parents will acquire knowledge and practical skills to enhance their children's education (Igiti kigororwa kikiri gito). Commencing education at an early age lays the foundation for comprehensive knowledge and skills in adulthood. It is imperative that parents commence teaching at an early stage, as reversing this process becomes challenging as the child grows.

We are confident that this training manual will heighten parental awareness of a child's character and development. It incorporates activities that enhance a child's life and includes various games to prepare them as exemplary Rwandan children capable of thriving in the global context. Through this module, parents will gain insights into the responsibilities and rights of the child. By achieving these goals, we envision Rwanda producing responsible and educated adults capable of global competitiveness.

Our gratitude extends to all parents, particularly those participating in the program outlined in this manual for the home-based development of children. We also appreciate the contributions of all those involved in the preparation and organization of this training manual. Feedback from users is encouraged to aid continuous improvement. Thank you.
